Thanks to Adam's Forge's adventurous spirit, my can't-stop-talking-about-metal obsession, and all my brave guinea pigs' input, the very first metal workshop taught by yours truly is happening!!

MASSC Mystery Metals Challenge 2023
Every year Metal Arts Society of Southern California, or MASSC members get to participate in this fun challenge, where we each get a package of raw materials, and we have to use each one of them somewhere somehow in the piece.
These are what came in this year's package and what I turned them into:
Copper sheet → book pages
Copper gallery wire → snail's eyes
Silver bezel wire → cigarette ashes and snail's shell
Brass nails → snails' eyes
Silver tubings → binding rings and snail's body
Rose quartz → snail's shell
Addition material: more cooper sheets for 1 extra book page and the other snails' bodies
The idea came from children books, the kind where you push the same fuzzy plushie which becomes different things as each page dresses it differently. I always thought it is a very fun and neat idea and now I have created my own version of it!
Dedicated to the lost child in you all.
Hey, the answer isn't elsewhere, it is within the resourceful, powerful and magical YOU! Cheers!

🖼Art on the Rock: Women’s Art Fair🚺
Rockhaven was founded in 1923 as a sanitarium to be run by women for women with mild mental and nervous disorders to give them a chance to recover.
The City of Glendale owns the property and recently received state funding to open the park.
Friends of Rockhaven was formed in 2013 to help make this park a reality. They got the property listed on both the State and National Historic Registries. They are planning to be able to be the ones who operate the museum, and hope to be a strong enough organization to have a say in what happens in the park, and maybe even operate it.
To help raise funds and awareness they are having a Women’s Art Fair at St Luke’s of the Mountains in La Crescenta, and I am thrilled to be part of it.
Join us and enjoy the beautiful rock structure designed in 1924 with ample space in an auditorium and a lovely patio, and shop for a wonderful cause.
